Here are some basic rules i devised.
1. General Posting Rules:
1.1 No "Flaming": Please do not post any messages that harrass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest.
1.2 No "Trolling": Please do not post any topic that disrupts the peace and harmony of this board. Don't create meaningless threads with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles and signatures.
1.3 No "Spamming": Please do not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site the same message. You will not post for the sake of increasing your post count or hack count.
1.4 No "Bumping": Please do not bump your request/help searching or other threads several times a day. Remember there are people who don't browse this board every hour. So do not bump a thread within 24h or too much even after 24 hours.
1.5 No "Offensive" Posts, Links or Images: Please do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise violative of any local or international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.
1.6 No "Dangerous" Posts, Links, Images or Files: Please do not post any messages that contain files that are out to gather information, damage, modify or touch the users' computer in any way. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photo's and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something appropriate or not.
2. Self-Promotion :
Please do not post any messages anywhere outside the advertising forums on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business, MLM, activity, or other entities that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion).
3. Signature Rules
3.1 Size Limits: All signatures should not exceed the following size limits:
Just Text: 6 lines normal size.
Just Image: unlimited images but together not more than; 450 pixels wide, 150 pixels tall and 150kbyte in size.
Text and Image: not exceeding the above specifications.
(Empty lines are counting as well.)
3.2 Content restrictions: You may have a link to your own website or services, but there must be no promotional language like "Best Hosting" or "Cheapest Styles". Paypal and affiliate links are NOT permitted.
Dynamic scripts linked in signatures that attempt to create cookies in another person's browser are not allowed for security reasons and will be removed.
4. Rules Regarding Either Commercial or Paid Software/Scripts/Services:
4.1 You can link your commercial/paid scripts/hacks/services in your signature but without any promotional language (eg. "best", "cheapest" etc.). The signatures rules still apply to such signatures.
4.2 Paid software, scripts or commercial servers can be discussed without being promoted. However, authors these products cannot promote their own products in anyway in posts. If a commercial discussion thread turns into a promotional thread, it will be closed or deleted. If authors are found using another account or encouraging a friend account to circumvent this rule, all accounts involved will be banned.
5. Forum Specific Rules
5.1 There are some forums on OtFans.net, namely the Downloads, Support and Code forums, that require the user to be logged in and be part of the "Member" usergroup; this is done to protect the content and prevent users from "leeching" our website.
To become a "Member" you need to have a membership of atleast 5 days and you should have made atleast 10 posts; spamming to get this 10 posts may result into a punishment decided by the staffs.
5.2 Every forum here can have it's own rules which can always be found in either a pinned topic or an announcement in the corresponding forum.
Use them at your disposal, once again this is just a suggestion
